Thanks to the vision of NSS management and my predecessors, the college has become a beacon of hope to thousands of students in Trivandrum and Kollam Districts of Kerala and has emerged as one of the leading colleges in the Kerala University.
This website provides in a nutshell all the teaching learning activities of the college, its research and extension activities. It also provides the history of the College and Departments and the credentials of the members of the faculty. All the important details of the college can be accessed through the website.

The college is proudly managed by the Nair Service Society (NSS), one of Kerala's most pioneering and esteemed educational agencies. Established on October 31, 1914, by the great social reformer "Bharathakesari" Sri Mannathu Padmanabhan, the NSS is a charitable organization dedicated to social advancement and welfare.
The NSS was founded during a critical time for the Nair community, which was facing challenges from disunity and outdated customs. Nairs once held significant influence in Kerala's socio-economic landscape but lost their prominence as British rule consolidated. Their life of luxury led to lethargy, mutual discord, and practices rooted in superstition, such as Taalikettu and the Marumakkathaayam system, contributing to their decline and ridicule. In response, Mannathu Padmanabhan, a school teacher and social reformer, alongside his supporters, founded the Nair Service Society to unify and uplift the community. Sri Mannathu Padmanabhan’s visionary leadership helped unite the community and transform it into a powerful force for progress. While initially focused on the Nair community, the society has since expanded its services to foster the development of all weaker sections of society through education and various other service activities.
Today, the NSS operates 13 Lower Primary Schools, 24 Upper Primary Schools, 74 High Schools, 47 Higher Secondary Schools, and 4 Teacher Training Institutes. The NSS has developed an extensive educational network in Kerala, which includes 19 Arts, Science, and Commerce colleges affiliated with Calicut, Mahatma Gandhi, and Kannur Universities, providing postgraduate studies, an Engineering College in Palakkad, a Polytechnic College in Pandalam, and three Training Colleges in Changanacherry, Pandalam, and Ottapalam. Additionally, it runs a Homeo Medical College in Kurichy near Changanacherry, an Ayurvedic College close to Pandalam, a Co-operative College in Kottayam, and two unaided Arts colleges for Women located in Thripoonithura and Perumthanni. Beyond education, the NSS contributes significantly to various social sectors, including public health, women's upliftment, and child welfare, while also supporting plantation activities and catering to pilgrims traveling to Sabarimala. Its facilities encompass Allopathy hospitals, four Ayurveda hospitals, one General Nursing school, four estates, 16 working women’s hostels, four guest houses, industrial units, an orphanage, and a Thantravidyapeedam. In addition to education, the NSS is active in various charitable initiatives, providing aid for housing, healthcare, and other essential services to those in need.
Driven by its motto of "Service, Sacrifice, and Unity," the NSS has left an indelible mark on Kerala's socio-cultural landscape. By consistently prioritizing educational and social contributions, the society continues to embody a strong commitment to communal harmony and the all-around progress of the state's population. Secretary, College Central Committee: As the organizational head of the higher education institutions, the Secretary holds the authority for all administrative and academic affairs. This includes the power to appoint and transfer staff and initiate disciplinary proceedings.
Principal: The Principal serves as the central coordinating authority, linking the management, faculty, students, the university, and the government. The Principal also heads the College Council, an advisory body that assists in administrative duties.
General Academic Committee: This committee formulates the annual academic calendar and supervises all curricular, co-curricular, and extracurricular activities on campus, ensuring a holistic and enriching learning environment for students.
